Breaking News: Stan Jordan joins District 8 Race

August 10, 2009

The race to fill the late Senator Jim King’s state Senate seat expanded today, as Duval County School Board member Stan Jordan announced his resignation from the board and joined the race. This brings the number of candidates in the District 8 Senate race to four, all Republicans.

Framing himself as the “Education” candidate in the field, Jordan said he will continue fighting for education issues if elected to the Senate.

“I will take a lot of the issues, concerns and frustrations of the School Board to the Senate with me,” Jordan said.

Jordan was elected to the School Board in November 2008 and is a former legislator. We will bring you more details as they become available.
