Troxler: “Elections need limits”

October 1, 2009

Tallahassee-CapitolColumnist Howard Troxler writes, “if you like your elections filled with sleazy attacks, paid for with legally laundered money well, you’re in luck. That’s what we’ve got in Florida, and it’s going to get worse unless the Legislature does something about it.”

Troxler concludes that he would “write the law this way: You can give as much money to a candidate as you want, as long as you give it under your own name and it is immediately made public. Let the voters know who’s really paying.”
